Comfortable upholstered chairs, beautiful pictures embedded within wall panels, and specially designed tableware all add to the fine dining experience. Fresh carnations and copper lanterns at each table create a soft, inviting mood, while the soft music and unobtrusive service sets you up for an unforgettable experience.

The main attraction of course is the central buffet table and on any given afternoon you will find it heavily laden with food, fuel-heated in large copper chafing dishes.

 

A few signature dishes include succulently tender Peshawari kebabs, fragrant Akbari Murg Biryani, Machli Kali Mirch and Kofta Naram Dil. At one end is an open kitchen, sealed in glass, where you may view the kebabs being sizzled to show you that there are no short-cuts taken, all dishes are authentic.

Mehtani Restaurant Group

Sneh Mehtani opened her first restaurant, “The Moghul Room,” in New York City’s Pennsylvania Hotel in 1983. Having no industry specific knowledge, she learned on her feet as she put together a remarkable group of chefs and gained respect from her customers and industry professionals alike.

In 1990 she asked her husband, Satish, to help her expand to Edison, New Jersey, a small suburb of Manhattan that had relatively few Indian immigrants at the time. As the expansion continued, the Mehtani Restaurant Group became famous not only for its Indian offerings, but also for its Asian restaurants, trendsetting cocktails, beautiful banquet hall, and premiere off-premise catering services.

 

For the last thirty years, Sneh & Satish have dedicated their lives to providing their customers with delicious food and warm service. Their son Shaun who recently took-over the family business hopes to raise the name of the Mehtani Restaurant Group in the world of hospitality by continuing his parents' legacy.
